Ascension Medical Group, a clinic in Anderson, IN, is hiring for a full-time Primary Care support role. The position supports providers with clinical tasks, patient intake, vital signs, and basic clerical duties.

Schedule is days, full-time, Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm. A high school diploma or equivalent and relevant credentials are required, with healthcare certifications completed within stated timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration within 90 days of hire.

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
• Performs basic clerical duties: answering phones, maintaining records, filing.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
