Job summary

BAART Programs is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient clinic in San Francisco. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, collect personal information and take vital signs, assisting practitioners with treatments and collecting lab samples.

The ideal candidate has certification, phlebotomy experience and the ability to interact compassionately with patients facing substance use disorders. Strong computer and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant with current certification/registration.
• Phlebotomy is required.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.
• Familiar with MS Office and patient management software.
• 1–2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Schedule intake appointments and verify patients’ information; prepare medical records.
• Check in patients, escort to waiting area, interview patients and record vital signs.
• Assist Medical Director/Program Physician/Nurse Practitioner with intakes and as needed.
• Obtain blood specimens and collect nonblood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms and disinfect equipment and supplies.
• Act as receptionist and manage reports and records; triage calls and messages.
