JOB SUMMARY:

This position primarily assists clinic healthcare providers with patient examinations, phone calls, treatments, and procedures within a clinical setting under the provider's supervision. The role includes maintaining patient medical records, collecting and preparing specimens, and administering medications as ordered by the provider.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Certified Medical Assistant
• Certification/Licensure in the State of Iowa
• Previous acute or clinic experience
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required; new employees must certify within three months of hire
• Effective communication skills in English
• Valid Iowa driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record, if applicable
• Proof of auto insurance, if applicable
• High level of empathetic listening, tact, and kindness
• Effective verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Sound nursing judgment, technical, and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of skilled nursing practices
