Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Physician Enterprise seeks a Medical Assistant I for the AMG White Oak Primary Care office in Silver Spring, MD. You will support patient care, assist clinicians, and document exam findings in the EMR, while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and safety standards.

The role requires CMA certification, BLS, and ideally 1–2 years of clinical experience; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with a Day Shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a clinical environment preferred.
• Current CMA certification required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• CMA training: sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, medical supplies & equipment.
• Familiarity with CPT & ICD coding and insurance requirements.
• Ability to abide by HIPAA, OSHA, and Adventist HealthCare policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and assist clinicians in the exam rooms.
• Accurately document patient examination, treatment, and test results in EMR.
• Maintain a safe, compliant work environment and protect patient confidentiality.
• Follow infection control practices and proper PPE usage.
