Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room, take histories, chief complaints, and vital signs.
• Prepare and organize exam room and instruments for examination and testing.
• Assist provider with various exams and procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and use aseptic techniques as needed.
• Triage, scheduling of tests, and treatments.
• Input data into EMR and update patient care plans per provider orders.
• Use safety equipment and dispose of biohazards per OSHA standards.
• Administer medications, injections, and immunizations; apply splints and dressings.
• Prepare and handle specimens and forward to appropriate lab.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
