Job summary

Adventist Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (Outpatient) to support clinic operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role involves assisting physicians and nurses, performing basic clerical tasks, and maintaining exam rooms and patient charts with strict adherence to HIPAA and clinic protocols.

Applicants should have an MA certification, high school diploma or GED, CPR, and ideally phlebotomy credentials.

Qualifications

Clinic-medical office experience preferred.
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Current CPR Certification required.
National Medical Assistant certification required.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Basic medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists practitioner and RN with basic administrative, clerical and technical supportive services and procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Cross-trains for front office functions and fills in as needed.
Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of staff, patient and administrative information in the Clinic, hospital and community setting.
Maintains lab and treatment rooms in an orderly manner.
Observes all clinic protocols and procedures as written.
Performs waived lab tests and lab internal QCs. Prepares samples for shipment to hospital lab.
Prepares patient for provider exam and collects all baseline information and records in the patient chart.
