Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for full-time, daytime hours (9am–5pm) at AMG Primary Care in Clark, NJ. Under physician supervision, you will support patient intake, chart updates, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma and national CMA certification (CCMA) with EMR experience. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within a large regional health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• National CCMA certification from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitors environment for accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CMA scope of practice and holistic patient-centered care.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation per plan of care.
• Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
