Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group Tiger Point in Gulf Breeze, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, day shift in the Primary Care department. You will welcome patients, measure vitals, and prepare examination rooms to ensure smooth visits.

You will transcribe orders, document encounters, and manage patient records, with required BLS and MA licensure. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant certification/licensure required.
• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with treatments as directed by providers.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
