Job summary

Ascension in Gulf Breeze, FL is staffing a Full-time Medical Assistant for day shift. You will welcome patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and support providers with treatments and charting. There is an emphasis on accurate documentation and coordinating orders for labs and medications.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and a Medical Assistant license/certification, with BLS within 30 days of hire. 1 year of MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of relevant experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Medical Assistant licensure/certification required for the state of work.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms.
• Assisting with treatments as directed by providers.
• Performing select clinical duties and providing administrative support such as charting and patient records management.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters with diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions and prescriptions.
• Transcribing orders for lab work, testing and medications.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
