Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Medical Assistant in the Physical Medicine and Rehab department. You will work under a licensed clinician, performing clinical and administrative tasks, maintaining patient records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Certification as CMA or RMA is required or obtainable within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with exams, obtaining specimens, and coordinating with providers for medications and authorizations.

Qualifications

• Current CMA or RMA certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Strong ethics, professionalism and integrity.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs and growth parameters.
• Document medical histories and symptoms in the EHR.
• Perform ECGs, pulmonary function tests and other diagnostics within scope.
• Collect and handle laboratory specimens.
• Prepare and administer medications per provider instructions.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures.
• Maintain infection control and OSHA safety standards.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for prescriptions and prior authorizations.
