Job summary

The MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support daily clinical and administrative operations in the clinic. The CMA will room patients, take vital signs, document in the electronic health record, and assist providers as needed.

Qualifications include completion of an accredited medical assisting program and CMA/CCMA certification, with BLS current. This role supports referrals, prior authorizations, and general clerical duties in a patient-centered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, NAHP, or NCCT as CCMA/CMA.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document in the EHR.
• Assist providers with patient care as needed.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Interview patients and collect medical history.
• Coordinate referrals and scheduling; handle prior authorizations.
