Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Community Physicians in Orangeburg is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support daily clinical and administrative operations. Under the supervision of a Clinic Office Coordinator, you will room patients, obtain vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist providers with patient care as needed.

A high school diploma or equivalent and an accredited medical assisting program are required, with CMA/CCMA certification and current BLS expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certification as CMA/CCMA or equivalent (AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP/NCCT).
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare examination areas.
• Take vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height) and document in the medical record.
• Assist providers with patient care as directed by supervision.
• Conduct patient interviews and coordinate clerical tasks (scheduling, referrals, authorizations).
