Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for full-time day shifts in the Primary Care network. The CMA provides direct patient care under physician direction, performs point-of-care testing, and supports clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience as Medical Assistant or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• New graduates must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NAHP certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and provides direct patient care under supervision.
• Performs point-of-care testing and basic laboratory tasks.
• Explains treatment procedures and reinforces patient education.
• Administers injections and medications as directed by physician.
• Maintains infection control and proper documentation in medical records.
