Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support a physician office in a busy primary care setting. The CMA will provide direct patient care, perform routine tests, assist with exams, and help with clerical tasks as needed under the supervision of a physician and RN/LPN.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Two+ years of CMA experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program is required, along with BLS certification and phlebotomy

Qualifications

• Two or more years of recent experience as Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• Phlebotomy class or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and provides direct patient care under supervision.
• Performs point-of-care testing and routine office procedures.
• Assists with exams, administration of injections, and medication administration as directed.
• Maintains infection control standards and completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
