Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in a busy Chicago primary care clinic by coordinating patient flow and providing clinical and administrative assistance.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, recording vital signs, updating records, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, maintaining rooms, and supporting scheduling and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or qualifying experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Phlebotomy training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Update patient medical information.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and basic testing.
• Maintain examination rooms and medical supplies.
• Document information in the medical record.
• Support scheduling and other administrative functions.
