Job summary

Altasciences in Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and nursing staff. The CMA prepares patients for exams, records vital signs, and updates electronic medical records.

Responsibilities include assisting with clinical workflow, room preparation, specimen collection, phlebotomy where directed, patient communication, and adherence to HIPAA and safety policies. Competitive benefits and hourly compensation apply.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of similar job experience in a medical office or clinic
• Familiar with EKG, Phlebotomy and Patient Care
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential required
• CPR certification required
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Athena preferred) and knowledge of pre-authorizations/referrals

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with direct patient care and prepare charts
• Maintain exam rooms, organize supplies, and support clinic workflow
• Take and document vital signs and patient history in EMR
• Schedule initial evaluations, follow-ups, and cancellations
• Assist with phones, filing, and general office duties
