Job summary

Beacon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Indiana to support clinical and clerical tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, taking patient histories, preparing patients for exams, performing lab tests and EKGs, managing medication administration, and coordinating schedules with the nursing staff.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and MA certification; Spanish language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant via exam or approved program and certification.
• Previous medical office experience.
• Spanish language ability desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with medical care and minor procedures.
• Answer phones, admit/discharge patients, and enter data.
• Record medical history and prepare patient for examination.
• Perform routine lab tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Administer and document medications and injections as directed.
• Schedule procedures and coordinate hospital admissions.
• Maintain patient records and calendar.
