Job summary

Beacon Health System in Goshen, IN seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care and clerical duties. Under supervision, you will help with exams, take histories, perform EKGs, and prepare rooms.

You will answer calls, admit and discharge patients, maintain records, and assist with data entry and billing processes. Spanish language ability is desirable; prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age 17.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through certification exam or two-year program.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Spanish language ability is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and/or nurse with patient care and minor procedures.
• Answer telephone calls and relay messages accurately.
• Admit and discharge patients and complete patient records for billing.
• Perform data entry and maintain patient charts and files.
• Record medical history and prepare patient for examination.
