Job summary

UF Health is seeking a professional Medical Assistant to support physicians with both administrative and clinical tasks in a fast-paced setting. The role involves taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, documenting in the medical record, administering medications under supervision, and contributing to team-based patient care while upholding excellent customer service.

Candidates should have CMA certification or be within 6 months, BLS, and ideally 1 year CMA experience plus 2–4

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required or within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at time of hire.
• MA program accreditation as required by certifying agency or board.

Responsibilities

• Take patient's vital signs; prepare patients for provider's care; assist with examinations or treatments.
• Document all entries in the medical record accurately (electronic or hard copy) with signature, date and time.
• Administer medications under the direct supervision of a licensed physician.
• Observe and report patient signs or symptoms; collect routine lab specimens as directed.
• Administer basic first aid.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Act as an active care team member in coordination of patient care.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff and other customers.
