Qualifications

• 1 year Medical assistant preferred.
• 2–4 years clerical/customer service experience, ideally in health care.
• 1 year experience with third party payors, and data entry/review experience preferred.
• CMA certification required or BLS must be obtained by time of hire.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at time of hire.
• MA program accreditation required by board or national/state medical association.

Responsibilities

• Take patients' vital signs and prepare them for care.
• Document all entries in medical records with signature, date and time.
• Administer medications as directed by a licensed physician.
• Observe and report patient signs or symptoms; collect routine lab specimens.
• Administer basic first aid.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Be an active care team member in coordinating patient care.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff and customers.
