We are seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the growing team. The CMAs assist the registered nurses to provide high quality health care to students from PreK – 12 grades in a 40-bed Health Center and in the school-based clinics. This includes assisting with admissions & discharge procedures of students, as well as transporting and accompanying students to and from medical appointments off campus including emergency room visits.
This is a year-round position averaging 24-29 hours per week. Shifts are primarily 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and include every other weekend plus a rotating holiday schedule, based on student’s needs. Potential set schedule: Week 1: Thursday - Sunday; Week 2: Thursday and Friday.
Hourly pay rate: $22.91 - 30.59 an hour (plus shift differential), pay is determined based on experience. Part-time employees are eligible for a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program (EAP), free lunches when on duty, and Hershey area discounts.
Qualifications
Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship beyond high school required.
Valid current certification from a state approved Medical Assistant training program or equivalent required.
At least one year of experience in providing nursing aide care in a hospital, clinic or residential care facility required.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
OSHA trained blood-borne pathogens.
Physically able to lift and assist injured students.
Willing to support and follow school & departmental policies & procedures.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed and specific instructions accurately.
Commitment to provide high quality care to children and youth.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and team environment in a busy and dynamic work setting.
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
