Job summary

Nestled in Mount Joy, Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support health care services, specimen collection, and routine lab tasks. You’ll help with patient flow and attendance, while coordinating scheduling and messages in a busy family practice setting with Neurology and Diabetes Education ties.

Qualified with a high school diploma and CMA/RMA eligibility, you’ll complete BLS within 6 months and benefit from Penn State Health’s Total Rewards program

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages.

Nestled in the charming town of Mount Joy, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team! At Penn State Health, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to our community, and we believe that our staff is the heart of our success. On average, we see 60-70 patients per day and serve primarily as a Family Practice, while also accommodating Neurology and Diabetic Education specialties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
