Job summary

UNC Health in Hillsborough, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under the clinical supervision of the provider, assist with rooming, vitals, patient histories, phlebotomy and medication administration, and ensure rooms are ready for visits.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $18.48–$25.89, with a $7,500 Commitment Incentive paid over three years and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Completed medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• Certification as MA (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT) required or in process.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals and reason for visit.
• Collect patient data including medical and social history.
• Review current medications, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Perform tests such as EKG and eye exams under supervision.
• Ensure exam rooms have supplies and educational materials.
• Provide patient with after-visit instructions and materials.
• Assist with registration, check-in/out, and scheduling.
