Job summary

UNC Health Family Medicine at Princeton is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. Under supervision of the provider, you will perform rooming, data collection, med list reviews, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and assist with procedures.

The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and efficient clinic operations. Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is preferred; BLS certification is required;

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification required: AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCMA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior MA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs and data.
• Gather medical and social history from patients.
• Review medications and allergies; verify pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Perform tests (EKG, eye exams) as directed.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready.
• Provide post-visit instructions and education.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls under supervision.
• Assist in emergency situations as directed.
