Job summary

Kernodle Clinic in Burlington, NC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Internal Medicine Department as a Pod Float. This full-time role involves patient intake, vitals, procedures, and collaboration with providers.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited MA program, CMA certification (AAMA/AMT preferred) and BLS. EPIC experience is a plus but not required. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant required with CMA certification preferred by AAMA or AMT.
• BLS certification through AHA required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vitals and medical history.
• Room patients in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs and vision screenings.
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Document patient calls, orders, and transactions in the medical record.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and organized between patients.
