Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group in Raleigh, NC seeks a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. The role works under a provider's supervision for patient care and under a manager for non-clinical tasks.

This position includes a $7,500 commitment incentive. You will assist with rooming, vitals, data collection, medication review, phlebotomy, and basic tests while maintaining exam room readiness and patient education.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant from AAMA, AMT, NCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake with vitals and patient reason for visit.
• Collect patient data including medical and social history.
• Review medications, allergies, and pharmacy preferences.
• Assist providers during treatments, exams, and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Conduct tests (e.g., EKG, basic eye exams) under supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and forms.
