Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision of a provider and clinic leadership, handling patient rooming, data collection, and assist with exams and procedures.

The role requires certification and BLS, with at least one year of-certified MA experience. A CAHEP/ABHES-accredited program is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collecting vital signs and data.
• Collect patient data, including medical and social history.
• Review medication list, allergies and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and administer medications under supervision.
• Maintain exam/treatment rooms and assist with registrations and scheduling.
