Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II for an outpatient clinic in Wake Forest, NC. The role provides routine clinical and administrative support under clinical supervision and the manager's direction.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, collecting vital signs, reviewing medications, assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, administering medications, and maintaining exam rooms. Prior CMA certification and at least one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage positively with patients and families and to work as a team with staff and providers.
• Ability to use a computer to document required information into the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and/or intake, collects vital signs and reason for visit.
• Collects patient and family data including medical and social history.
• Reviews current medications and allergies; coordinates with preferred pharmacy.
• Assists providers during treatments, examinations and procedures.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Administers medications under provider direction.
• Performs tests such as EKG or eye exams under provider direction.
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms, supplies and equipment.
