Job summary

Responsibilities

Assist physician and other providers to examine and treat patients, including handing instruments or material or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
Obtain, identify and record patients' history, vital signs, medications and chief complaints; document in medical records.
Collect, prepare and transport lab specimens; perform basic lab tests and sterilize instruments.
Perform phlebotomy functions (venipuncture/skin puncture) as required.
Prepare treatment rooms, maintain cleanliness and stock supplies; sterilize instruments.
Operate EKG or other equipment for routine diagnostic testing.
Schedule and reschedule patient visits; inform patients of policy and procedures.
Front desk duties: registration, check-out, phones, chart assembly, data entry and order transcription.
Communicate treatment procedures and instructions to patients.
