Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• CPR certification required on hire.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician and providers to examine and treat patients, including injections, sutures, and related tasks.
• Obtains and records patient history, vital signs, medications, and symptoms.
• Collects and prepares specimens; performs phlebotomy and basic lab tests.
• Prepares treatment rooms and maintains stock and equipment.
• Operates ECG or other equipment for routine tests.
• Schedules follow-ups and assists with patient communication.
• Manages registration verification, insurance scanning, and HIPAA policy distribution.
• Collects co-pays and processes payments; reconciles cash drawer.
• Performs encounter edits and assists with appointment management.
• Assists with referrals and authorizations for outside procedures.
