Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• CPR certification required.
• At least 1 year experience as a medical assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician and providers by handing instruments or materials and performing tasks such as injections or suture removal.
• Collects and records patient medical history, vital signs, medications and chief complaints.
• Performs phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests; disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes instruments.
• Prepares treatment rooms, maintains stock, and ensures instruments are sterilized.
• Operates EKG or other diagnostic equipment to administer routine tests.
• Guides patients through check-in/out, explains policies, and aids scheduling and referrals.
