IN STEP PODIATRY CENTER, LLC is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our expanding team in Lanham, MD. You will room patients, take vitals, manage scheduling, maintain EMR data accuracy, and support clinical workflows.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and multitasking skills, are dependable, and preferably have 2 years of MA experience; AthenaHealth experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and taking vitals.

• Assisting in minor procedures and surgeries.

• Cleaning rooms and etc.
• Greeting patients in a polite, prompt, professional, and helpful manner.
• Collecting patient co-pay/balances.
• Answering phones and addressing patients' needs promptly.
• Scheduling appointments.
• Updating patient demographic and clinical information in the EMR system.
• Scanning insurance cards, IDs, and other medical records into the EMR system.
• Verifying patient insurance benefits and keeping track of referrals/authorizations.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Rooming patients and taking vitals.
• Collecting H'P information.
• Obtaining consent and assisting in minor procedures and surgeries.
• Maintaining inventory.
• Disinfecting and autoclaving instruments.
• Taking x rays (will train).
• Preparing labs and giving results.
• Cleaning rooms and etc.
• Greeting patients in a polite, prompt, professional, and helpful manner.
• Collecting patient co-pay/balances.
• Answer phones in a pleasant manner and deal with patients' needs promptly.
• Schedule appointments.
• Update patient demographic and clinical information in our practice management system.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, and other medical records into our EMR system.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and keep track of insurance authorizations/referrals.

Requirements

• The right candidate will have great communication AND multitasking skills. The candidate should be energetic, friendly, a fast learner, and great with patients.
• Prefer 2 years of medical assistant experience.
• MUST BE DEPENDABLE.
• AthenaHealth experience is a plus.
