Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our float pool, mainly based in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. The role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA or EMT-Basic certification with at least 1 year of clinical/admin experience. Travel to other areas is required based on staffing needs.

Standard hours are 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, with travel differential pay. Bonuses are available and benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, PTO, parental leave, and tuition

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification is required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical or administrative experience; Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under direction of licensed clinicians.
• Work collaboratively with Physicians, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
• Float pool coverage across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake with travel as needed.
• Follow standard working hours: Monday through Friday with 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
• Differential pay provided for travel and flexibility.

Overview:

Sentara Medical Group is currently offering a Sign on Bonus to Qualified Medical Assistants!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

This is a full-time Float Pool position. Primary work is in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, & Chesapeake. Travel to other areas required based on staffing requests.

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
