Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for a flexi Float Pool role based in Virginia Beach, VA. Expect travel to nearby facilities (Norfolk, Chesapeake) as staffing needs require. Primary hours are 12 per week, Monday–Friday, with travel-based differential pay.

Qualifications include active CMA/CCMA/RMA/EMT-Basic and 1 year of clinical or administrative experience; BLS within 90 days of hire. High School diploma required; MA program preferred.

Qualifications

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; MA program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks as delegated by clinicians.
• Support physicians, NP/PA, RN, or LPN in daily patient care.
• Float to primary sites (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake) and travel to Edenton/Elizabeth City/Moyock as needed.

Overview:

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

This is a flexi Float Pool position. Primary work locations: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake.

May require travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites based on staffing needs.

Standard Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience
• Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
