Job summary

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for its flexible Float Pool. Primary locations include Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, with travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock as needed.

Must hold CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic certification and have a High School Diploma or equivalent; a completed Medical Assistant program is preferred. Current BLS within 90 days adds value.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks as delegated.
• Support physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN under supervision.

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

This is a flexi Float Pool position. Primary work locations: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake.

May require travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock sites based on staffing needs.

Standard Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience
• Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
