Job summary

Holy Cross Health Center - Progressive in Montgomery Village is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams, prep exam rooms, and assist physicians with patient care and examinations. You will take vitals, document in the Electronic Health Record, and help with labs while ensuring patient comfort.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, documenting symptoms, collecting specimens, and assisting with procedures.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification from one of the listed organizations (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NHA, NAHP, NPCE)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician's office (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Show patients to exam room, interview patients, measure vital signs and document in Electronic Health Record.
• Accurately assess patient symptoms, reactions, and physical condition and record data in the medical record.
• Take necessary labs, prepare for pick up and record in the patient electronic health record, communicate with departments on lab protocols and information for procedures.
• Set up exam room and prepare patients for examinations; assist with procedures per physician/healthcare provider preference (e.g., gynecological exams, minor surgeries, electrocautery, biopsies, sigmoidoscopies, casting, sterile technique).
• Maintain knowledge of front office operations; assist with reception, medical records, scheduling and billing functions.
