UF Health seeks a Medical Assistant to greet patients, support both administrative and clinical tasks, and work under the supervision of a licensed physician and Office Manager. The candidate will handle patient registration, scheduling, phlebotomy, basic lab procedures, and data entry in the electronic medical record while providing excellent service.

Required CMA within 6 months, BLS at hire, and 1 year of medical assistant or clerical experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year Medical assistant preferred.
• 2-4 years Clerical/customer service experience in health care preferred.
• 1 year experience with third party payors and data input for patient demographics preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred within 30 days.
• National/State MA program accreditation appropriate for CMA eligibility.

Responsabilités

• Receives and directs messages to appropriate personnel via electronic, in person, and telephone.
• Maintains patient scheduling and sets appointments per guidelines.
• Interviews and completes patient registration for services.
• Keys patient dispositions, diagnostic codes, orders, charges, and payments in EMR.
• Performs cashiering for co-payments and patient payments/collections.
• Performs venipuncture and administers routine medications under physician supervision.
• Collects routine lab specimens and performs basic lab tasks including vital signs.
• Delivers excellent customer service to patients, families, and treatment team.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.
