Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for Salem Primary Care. The role supports the primary care physician, reviews health records, measures vitals, and preps treatment rooms to ensure efficient patient visits.

The CMA will greet patients, verify tests and records, and perform clerical tasks as part of a collaborative care team. BLS/MA certification is required and Mercy Health emphasizes equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/AMT/NHA/NCCT or equivalent.
• If CMA is not obtainable, ABR-OE is acceptable (not in SC).
• BLS certification required at hire for Mercy Health locations; may be required prior to independent patient care at some sites.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Review and update patient charts; verify diagnostic tests and hospital reports.
• Measure vital signs (pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height).
• Perform clerical duties: inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems; perform other duties as assigned.
