Responsibilities

Below are your responsibilities as a Certified Medical Assistant with YesCare at Leon County Jail in Tallahassee, FL:

• Administer medications according to established policies and procedures. Order and stock medications as needed, not exceeding maximum inventory levels.
• Reconcile daily drugs received from pharmacy against faxed order forms. Distribute drugs to storage areas, ensuring stock rotation and return of outdated drugs to the pharmacy.
• File all completed MARs in the Medical Record. Notify pharmacy of inmate transfers or releases.
• Collect specimens as ordered and ensure proper conveyance. Follow Universal Precautions and Infection Control procedures. Assist with PPD implantation, reading, and recording results.
• Assist physicians and nurses as needed. Support emergency screening in housing areas to determine necessity and priority for physician attention.
• Be proficient in CPR and recognize when to implement it. Receive annual re-certification training.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, and securing equipment. Perform other duties as assigned.
