Job Description
Pediatric Medical Assistant

Hourly Rate: $15–$17 per hour (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time

Locations: Land O’ Lakes & Spring Hill, FL (Must be flexible to work at both locations as needed.)

Job Overview

We are seeking a certified and experienced Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team. This role is ideal for someone who is warm, energetic, and professional, with a passion for working with children. You will be responsible for both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring a smooth patient experience.

To be considered, candidates must have prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting. Pediatric experience and familiarity with Florida Shots are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support:
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and document medical history accurately.
  • Assist with vaccinations, collect test samples, and manage lab results.
  • Prepare charts and necessary documents for the next day’s appointments.
  • Provide support to medical providers during exams and procedures.
Administrative & Front Desk Duties:
  • Greet and check-in patients with a warm and friendly approach.
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and verify insurance details.
  • Process patient payments and manage office tasks, such as filing and mail.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required.
  • Previous experience in a pediatric medical office highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and front-desk operations.
  • Experience with Florida Shots is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • A friendly, upbeat, and professional personality to create a welcoming environment for children and their families.
  • Ability to work at both Land O’ Lakes and Spring Hill locations as needed.
