The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists practitioner in performing procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results.

Opportunities and Responsibilities

We have multiple opportunities within our Primary Care and Specialty Clinics, including Dermatology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Immediate Care, Neurology, Orthopedics, Sleep Medicine, Urology, Endocrinology, and OB/GYN.

  • Participate in and uphold a culture consistent with The Corvallis Clinic's Service and Behavioral Standards.
  • Direct patient flow and prepare patients for exams.
  • Obtain and document chief complaints, patient history, vital signs, and pertinent information in the EHR promptly.
  • Retrieve and communicate lab and radiology results; instruct patients on medications and treatments per practitioner instructions.
  • Handle patient phone calls timely and accurately, documenting interactions properly.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures according to national standards.
  • Enhance care quality through ongoing education and self-evaluation, attending in-services and staying current with policies.
  • Monitor provider schedules for accuracy.
  • Perform injections under direct supervision as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock in shared work areas and exam rooms.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate from an accredited medical assistant program (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT).
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Primary Care and Specialty Clinics listed above.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining complex issues to patients and team members.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
