Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical staff, performing rooming, vital signs, blood draws, medication administration, and EMR documentation.

You will manage follow-up tracking, referrals, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and patient education while ensuring HIPAA compliance and CLIA/OSHA guidelines.

Requires BLS within 30 days, CMA/RMA/CCMA credentials, high school diploma, and E-Verify work authorization.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Credential options include CMA (NCCT or AAMA CMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA (NHA).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified medical assistant work experience preferred.
• Maintain CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and workplace rules.
• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30.
• Work authorization verified through E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and clinical staff with obtaining vital information and preparing patients for examinations, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
• Obtain patient review of systems and history; measure and document vital signs.
• Perform basic rooming functions and screening questions.
• Draw and collect blood and other patient samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
• Carry out clinical orders within scope of competency, including administering medications and vaccinations orally or by injection.
• Manage tracking systems for follow-up appointments, laboratory tests, and procedures.
• Assist with managing results and follow-up as determined by the provider.
• Schedule specialist or outpatient referrals and complete referral and laboratory requisition forms, including CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record using standardized workflows.
• Answer patient and family questions and provide education as directed by the provider.
• Attend clinic/department meetings and monitor organizational communications.
• Perform other duties requested by the Clinic Administrator to support office operations.

• One of the following credentials: Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA
• High school diploma/GED
• Certified medical assistant work experience
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines
• Maintain compliance with Compliance, HIPAA, and personnel workplace rules
• Regular and consistent attendance
