Job summary

Ascension Health in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with patient examinations, vital signs, and ordered treatments. You will prepare rooms, maintain a clean environment, and handle basic materials stocking to keep the practice flowing smoothly.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience, and licensure as applicable in the state. A BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart all information, and precisely transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
• Office Management: Handle critical clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.
