Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Cardiology Group in Pensacola, FL is hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology department. You will welcome patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers with treatments as directed.

You’ll also handle medical records, calls, and charting to keep visits smooth and efficient. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days, plus 1 year of medical assistant experience

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• 1 year of medical assistant experience.
