Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Medical Assistant at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, MD. You will assist clinicians, prepare exam rooms, document patient information, and handle routine clerical tasks to support smooth clinic operations.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient patient flow within the Cardiology department. A certification (BLS) and MA credentials are required, with state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant credential required prior to hire date. Licensure required for state of work.
• State licensure relevant to the state in which work is performed.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, chart information, and transcribe provider orders for labs, radiology, and medications.
• Office Management: Handle clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support workflow.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration
