Position Schedule

This float/part-time position requires some travel between nearby practices. Scheduled on an as-needed basis, hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Friday and 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday & Sunday.

General Position Summary

Medical Assistants conduct routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of clinicians. They play a vital role in the smooth operation of our facilities, requiring technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills. Effective collaboration with healthcare staff ensures cohesive, accurate, and quality patient care. Medical Assistants must be adaptable, committed to ongoing learning, and uphold professionalism and ethics to create a positive healthcare experience.

Core Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed.
  • Perform clinical procedures like injections and specimen preparations with precision.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens.
  • Conduct basic lab tests and record results.
  • Maintain patient records confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on treatment and follow-up care.
Administrative Duties
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
  • Manage appointments, coordinate with providers, and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Handle patient check-ins/outs and verify insurance info.
  • Update medical records in EHR systems.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
Technical Expertise
  • Proficient in medical software and EHR systems.
  • Troubleshoot medical equipment issues.
  • Stay updated with medical technologies and procedures.
  • Provide staff training on equipment and software.
Administrative Skills
  • Organized, multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Build rapport with patients with kindness and patience.
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinic opening/closing, maintain cleanliness, and complete compliance checklists.
  • Greet patients, answer inquiries, and guide through registration.
  • Manage multi-line phones, scan documents, and perform callbacks.
  • Verify insurance, update demographics in EMR.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments, follow up as needed.
  • Support clinical staff during examinations and procedures.
  • Complete clinical intake and update records.
  • Perform venipuncture, lab collections, and point-of-care testing.
  • Conduct QC tests, maintain supplies, ensure clean exam rooms.
  • Meet KPIs, assist with patient discharge, optimize flow.
  • Follow policies for provider orders, referrals, and compliance.
  • Participate in training, maintain safety standards, and attend meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completed medical assistant training with current CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification.
  • 2+ years of medical assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
Experience with Tasks
  • Clinical intake, data collection.
  • Specimen collection, EKG testing.
  • Meet state licensing requirements, maintain certifications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years customer service and patient care experience.

  • Stand, sit, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and use manual dexterity.
  • Hours vary based on location and needs.
