Certified Medical Assistant
Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran owned company, is hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Department of Labor at the Frances Perkins Building Occupational Health Clinic in Washington, DC. The clinic provides occupational health services including physical evaluations, immunizations, and minor medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. No holidays or weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist clinicians with patient history, vital signs, appointment scheduling, and clinical activities.
- Support tele-health providers, including assisting with patient-side examinations.
- Educate patients on health-related topics.
- Perform blood draws, POC testing, lab test processing, urinalysis, and related audits and reports.
- Provide clinical supportive care such as applying dressings, removing sutures, ear lavage, and administering pre-packaged prescription drugs (excluding controlled substances).
- Perform EKGs.
- Help manage patient flow during visits and appointments.
- Assist with medical records management, including filing, copying, and audits.
- Conduct basic health screenings like blood pressure, temperature, BMI, blood sugar, cholesterol, flu, strep, and COVID-19 tests.
- Maintain stock of common medications.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Valid certification to practice as a Medical Assistant in Arizona.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- At least one year of experience as a medical assistant; occupational health experience preferred.
