AllCare Primary and Immediate Care has grown into a trusted provider of healthcare services with over 30 locations across Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and Georgia. Position Schedule

This position involves some travel between nearby practices and is considered float/part-time. You will be scheduled as needed. Hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Friday and 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday & Sunday.

General Position Summary

Medical Assistants conduct routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of clinicians. They play a key role in the smooth operation of our facilities, requiring technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills. Effective teamwork and communication with healthcare staff are essential. Medical Assistants must be adaptable, committed to ongoing learning, and uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics to ensure a positive patient experience.

Core Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed.
  • Perform clinical procedures such as injections and specimen collection.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and record results.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up care.
Administrative Duties
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients.
  • Manage patient appointments and coordinate with providers.
  • Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, verify insurance.
  • Update and maintain electronic health records.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
  • Manage medical supplies and ensure compliance with regulations.
Technical Expertise
  • Proficient in medical software and EHR systems.
  • Troubleshoot medical equipment issues.
  • Stay updated on medical technologies and procedures.
  • Provide staff training on equipment and software.
Administrative Skills
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Build rapport with patients with kindness and patience.
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Manage time effectively and pay attention to detail.
  • Experience in healthcare administration preferred.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinic opening/closing, maintain cleanliness and compliance.
  • Greet and assist patients, manage registration.
  • Answer phones, scan documents, callbacks.
  • Verify insurance, input patient data.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments, follow up.
  • Assist providers with clinical duties.
  • Complete clinical intake and documentation.
  • Perform venipuncture, lab tests, and specimen collection.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of point-of-care testing.
  • Maintain supplies and exam rooms.
  • Ensure clinic readiness and compliance.
  • Complete training and attend meetings.
  • Train new staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical assistant training with current CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
Direct Experience With The Following Tasks
  • Clinical intake and data collection.
  • Laboratory specimen collection.
  • Performing EKG testing.
  • Meet state licensing and certification requirements.

Maintain confidentiality, exhibit professionalism, and commit to high-quality care. Uphold legal and ethical standards, demonstrate punctuality, appropriate attire, and respectful interactions. Strive for excellent patient outcomes with meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Experience in primary, urgent, or emergency care settings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and relevant laws.
Working Conditions
  • Patient-facing role in a clinical setting with moderate noise and exposure risks.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and use manual dexterity.
  • Hours vary based on location and needs.

  • Clinical team members, administrative leaders, practice managers.
