Sentara Urgent Care Gloucester is hiring a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant based in the Gloucester, VA area. The Medical Assistant will provide patient care and perform administrative duties across clinics in Gloucester, New Town, Lightfoot and Newport News, with hours Monday through Sunday depending on shift coverage.

Qualifications include CMA/RMA/CCMA or EMT Basic certification and BLS within 90 days of hire; 1 year of clinical/administrative experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or EMT Basic Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days from hire.
• 1 year clinical/administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures per clinic protocols.
• Perform administrative duties to support clinic operations.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff and follow safety policies.
• Inter-departmental communication to coordinate care and processes.
• Follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices.

Coverage will be required for the following clinics in the Gloucester area: Gloucester - 5659 Parkway Dr., Gloucester, VA New Town - 4374 New Town Avenue, Williamsburg, VA Lightfoot - 6497 Centerville Rd, Williamsburg, VA J. Clyde Morris- 747 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA

Clinic hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m. - 8:00p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 8am-4pm.

The Medical Assistant provides an environment for safety; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for the patient, visitors, and employees. Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate). Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a number of viewpoints considers an array of alternatives, assists with the development of realistic action plans and evaluates outcomes. Demonstrates the development of the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter-departmental interactions, and ability to follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices. Productive and efficient in daily operations. Utilizes appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.

Education HS - High School Grad or Equivalent Certification/Licensure Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days from hire

Experience Clinical/Administrative Experience 1 year preferred

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
