Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Kansas City, KS, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Family Practice department. This full-time role supports clinical and administrative tasks, with days only and 8-hour shifts from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

The CMA will greet patients, take vital signs, assist with procedures, update records, and coordinate appointments within a fast-paced clinic setting under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current.
• Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain vital signs, and prepare them for examinations and procedures
• Assist providers with routine treatments and patient care needs
• Administer medications and injections as permitted by certification and clinic policy
• Update patient records, document clinical information, and maintain accurate medical histories
• Coordinate prescription refills, lab results, referrals, and follow-up appointment
